Mountaineering Instructors Course Conducted at Minapin, Nagar, Distt Gilgit, Gilgit-Baltistan
ACP organised a training Course for Mountaineering Instructors from 5th September to 13th September 2011 with the support of the Italian NGO working for the growth of sustainable tourism and other development projects in the Central Karakoram National Park Ev-K2-CNR and organised in the framework of Social, Economic and Environmental Development (SEED) project.
The course was participated by 15 selected mountaineers and climbers from various mountaineering schools of Gilgit Baltistan and other areas including ACP nominated mountaineering instructors. The foreign instructors who imparted the training included Italian Mountaineer and Mountain Guide Mr Maurizo Gallo and the Italian Mountain Rescue expert Mr Michelle Cucchi Lungo. The Rock climbing training was conducted at Gilgit for three days whereas snow craft, ice climbing, glacial walking and crevasse rescue management was imparted at the Minapin and Rakaposhi glaciers for five days.
